Federica Di Giovanni was born on the 1st of April 1980 on the Island of Ponza. After her graduation at DAMS Cinema University in Bologna, she studied photography at Studio Marangoni Foundation in Florence. Her works have been published in many Italian and International magazines such as The Financial Times, Monocle, Sportweek and Vogue. She also collaborated with different companies and organizations as Unicef, Finmeccanica, P&G and CocaCola. She took part in different exhibitions as Il mestiere del fotografo at La Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, Piattaforma 09 at Fondazione Fotografia in Modena, Foto d'autrice at Galleria Belvedere in Milan and at Rantagalleria of Northern Photographic Centre in Oulu, Finland, for her personal exhibition Camping Italia. Federica is also one of the eight photographers selected by Vogue Talents for the Prada Minimal Baroque sunglasses campaign. In 2011 she won the FNAC 2011 award for her work Camping Italia. Her latest work,Isole d'inverno, an exploration of the Minor Italian Islands during the Winter Season, published in several magazines, was also exhibited in Bastia and Marseille. Personal exhibitions curated by the Italian Institute of Culture. In 2018 Isole d'inverno becomes a book with the introduction by Erri De Luca, published by Crowdbooks. When she backs on the mainland she lives and works between Florence, Rome, Turin and Milan.
